MarineTech Selected to Open New Office in the Wakayama Prefectural IT Center, Tanabe, Japan
After a series of reviews of documentation, interviews and presentation to a committee of senior officials brought together by the Prefectural Industrial Promotion Division, MarineTech was chosen to locate its office at the Prefectural building. On November 1, 2008, MarineTech opened its new office. It is at the prestigious and ultra-modern Big-U Prefectural IT Building that is high-capacity, broadband Internet connected that also hosts the satellite campus of Wakayama University.

Research Position
The Position:
For Work in a Prominent Canadian University Laboratory on a collaborative project between MarineTech and the Canadian University Laboratory.
Beginning on March 1, 2009, the project is related to bioactive peptides.
Project Description:
Food derived bioactive peptides: this project aims to understand digestion and metabolism of specific peptides within in-vitro digestion systems. Major marine and human nutrition applications.
Requirements:
Candidates should have a master’s degree or Ph.D. in any of the following: food protein chemistry; nutrition; biochemistry; biology; biomedical science; food science; or a related subject. Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated good laboratory skills, high productivity in research (in terms of publications and presentations), and who have good critical thinking, research design, communication, self-motivation, and team working skills.
Length of appointment:
1 year with the possibility of renewal for a second year.
